Suite for Piano is a combination of three piano pieces that I wrote that are included in a larger book of ten piano preludes. The three pieces in this suite are “Prelude Refined,” “Prelude Open,” and “Prelude Again.” These three pieces are an exploration of some of the more subtle human emotions. I am trying to express feelings of bitter sweetness, reminiscence, and melancholy. I also tried to explore entropy in these pieces as well primarily heard in “Prelude Open.” This specific prelude starts with confidence and straightforward rhythms until it eventually loses its concentrated direction to a more billowy feeling of freedom. Impressionism has always been an interest for me and these pieces are my exploration of this style.
